Happy Pride Month! Let's celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and neighbors!
Happy Pride Month from the West Alameda Business Association!
One of the many reasons the West End is special, are all of inclusive and diverse businesses that shape our district. As we celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and neighbors, I hope you’ll join me in supporting these wonderful businesses and the immense contributions they bring to our district.
A special congratulations to our friends at the Feathered Outlaw on their first Magical Market of the year, and their 8th anniversary! Mark your calendars for June 21st, when they’ll be hosting another market and celebrating the Solstice.
One of my favorites on Webster Street, Ala Mediterranean Grill & Mezzes is now serving lunch. YAY! If you haven’t tried their fried cheese, kebabs, or homemade hummus, you're truly missing out. Did you know you can rent or use WABA’s Healing Garden? The Healing Garden is privately managed and operated by the West Alameda Business Association. It’s a community space for events, celebrations, and a peaceful spot for a quiet meal. If you're interested in using The Healing Garden, you can review our guidelines and sign up here.
Finally, we are less than 10 days away from our FIRST event in the West is Best Series. I want to extend a special thank you to our friends at Embarc. Their SUPER FAN support makes it possible for us to present this series free to the public.
I look forward to seeing everyone on June 16th for Pop Rocks, an A-list dance band delivering a dynamic blend of high-energy hits spanning from Motown to the 90s. We also have a fun collection of artists, vendors, and merchants. We also still have a space or two left for makers to sign up and participate in what is shaping up to be a vibrant celebration of art and community; sign up here.
Have a great week ahead and I’ll see you on Webster!
