Reserve The Healing Garden for an Event; Youth Career Fair; WABA in Action on Webster; Farmers' Market Offers More Organics; and more!
Thank you for all the kind words regarding my retirement; it is greatly appreciated. For clarification, this will be my third attempt at retirement, and this time it's going to stick! The benefactor of my retirement will be Thrifty Kitty. I can volunteer there and still contribute to my community.
Alameda Farmers' Market

The Healing Garden 2024
Our calendar is open for bookings at this amazing community space. Use of this lot is a "sweat equity" contract; you set-up to fit your needs and then leave it as you found it. The lot can be used for special parties, fundraisers, events, and most any gathering, including our businesses in the district. There are restrictions on amplified music that we can work with you on to adhere to the guidelines. Last year, many non-profits used the lot for their fundraising and reported a total of $30,000 raised! Contact WABA if you're interested.
WABA at Work!
We don't often share our efforts toward keeping Webster Street safe and clean (our New Year's resolution is to share more often). Last week, I (WABA) received a call that individuals had set up a tent in a vacant lot off Webster. We contacted the City's CARES team for a welfare check and contacted the property owner for further action, if needed. On the same lot we found new graffiti that needed attention. The property owner was contacted and we coordinated graffiti removal. Also, there is a new graffiti on a business on Webster; we are working with the business to create an art piece in this space because it regularly gets tagged. Please help being our eyes and ears and we will take action!
The re-striping project on Webster is still happening and we will keep you posted on the dates. Webster Street will end up gaining 11 parking spots which includes several handicapped spaces.
